There is a consistant problem with the display of the date picker... several other people have the same issue. I have reinstalled the events plugin, and disabled several plugins so see if there is any conflict... none found.
I tried using the datepicker plugin, but it made no change to the dispaly (although it did move the datepicker icon to the left.
I believe that this is more than a simple plugin problem, there seems to be an underlying problem with jQuery or something (I have no idea how that works though).
This is a pleas to have the ability to have a reliable datepicker function which works throughout elgg... perhaps a part of the core system?

These are 3rd party plugins which are unsupported by the core team. I've updated the ticket to match the enhancement request for a standardized date picker to be available as a view in core itself.
