Elgg 1.5 Installation Stuck in Setting after Creating Tables in database

Description
I'll appreciate if you can guide me on one problem I am facing.
I have registered domain with StartLogic hosting.
When I run Elgg setup
.htaccess is fine and tables are created in database + settings.php is generated but installation stuck on Settings page.
After that it fails giving following error 500 Internal Server Error :
"The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.
The script had an error or it did not produce any output. If there was an error, you should be able to see it in the error log"
I checked the error log and it failed on sanitised installation check in Engine/start.php that's why skips loading files.
Your help/guidance is highly appreciated.
