I lost my rss feeds from index page

Description
Elgg 1.7.8 and recent SVN relese have a bug it is not showing rss feeds on index page , rest of all pages have rss feeds.
I installed a fresh svn 1.8 on http://assemblein.info for testing purposes only with default plugins you can check this for more info.

As far as I can tell, Elgg has not had an RSS feed on the front page and actively turns it off. This has been the case since at least 1.0. Why? I don't know.
